How well does your arm move?

The arm... we take this thing for granted way to often. Then we realize we have trouble lifting it overhead or it hurts if you move it that way or this way. And what does the doctor say? "Well if that hurts don't do that".. that's just a joke. Unfortunately, that's what most people do instead of getting it looked at.

The glenohumeral joint (where the humerus attaches to the scapula) is one of the most mobile joints in the body next to the hip. It can almost move in every direction. If we take care of this joint we can enjoy our lives to the fullest, and isn't that what we all want?

Obviously we use the arms in the golf swing...

Great mobility in the arms leads to great turns and great swings. If we have the mobility to keep the lead arm straight then we can have a more efficient and controllable swing. If that elbow bends then we have more moving parts making the swing harder to control. When the arms can't externally rotate we move into issues like chicken winging, which can also cause elbow pain.

Follow this video to get started working on the mobility of your arm.

Let us know how these first movements go!!!
